We’re coming up on the end of 2023. Time for reflection and looking forward. Many choose this time to pick a “Word of the Year” to guide them moving forward. Sort of like your “north star.”
Have you ever picked a word for the year? I have to be transparent and say that I almost always think about doing it, but I don’t always do it. Usually, if I do pick one, I either change it or forget what I picked.
Therefore, I’m going to try and help both you and me out in choosing a word for the year for 2024!
The first step – is to stop and get really clear on what you want 2024 to look like for you. I find it often centers around what changes I want and/or need to make. Most of the time they are positive changes that I want to see happen.
The second step – Once you have that firmly in mind, think of a word or phrase that will remind you of your goal. What word encapsulates and inspires you to stay focused on that goal?
Let’s explore some words to get us started.
I recently came across a list of 100 Words of the Year along with their meaning.

If so, it might just be the perfect Word of the Year for you!
The third step – Once you know what that word is this is what you do next: Put it on a Post-It Note or print it out and frame it. Then, put it in a visible place where you can be reminded of it every day.
